How it works
HIFU uses multiple beams of ultrasound. Individually the beams do not effect the tissue, however their area convergence under the skin becomes a point of thermal energy. Heating the tissue below the surface causes it to contract and tighten, while also forming new collagen fibers. collagen proteins begin to lose there integrity with age. This causes frown lines, crows feet and drooping neck. Tightening the SMAS layer and replenishing collagen will tighten and tone the skin.
Questions
HIFU is suitable for from age thirty and over. Forties and fifties are the most common age group to undergo HIFU but it is also suitable for those over 60 as long as laxity in the skin is not too great. If you have had surgery in the past, you can use it to prolong the effects of face lifts.
Most people will not report any pain. There can be some slight aching over bony areas or a warm sensation in skin during treatment.
For some clients, you will be able to see instant tightening and toning of the skin. This is due to the instant contraction of the SMAS layer and results will continue to improve over time as collagen fibres grow back thicker and stronger. In around 2 to 3 months’ good results will show and your improvements will carry into month 6 post treatment.
Every person differs and will see results at different times. As always, results will vary from person to person and are different depending on age, recovery time, diet, lifestyle and medical history.
In most HIFU treatments. the results will last for between 1 and 2 years. However, we recommend a yearly treatment depending on your overall skin condition.

- Skin thinning medication within 6 months (Roaccutane)
- Recent Skin Peels (TCA Peels wait 6-8 weeks, AHA or Glycolic Peels) wait 2-3 weeks
- Anti- Inflammatory medication
